Dixon summary

Dixon was the village of origin for the majority of the Fools Errand / Tollers, Below is a summary of how that town was run

Dixon: (This has all been jotted down from Mr. Crisps memory, the rest of you had yet to actually work the toll, on occasion some of you snuck peeks and might have helped keep the watch for people having trouble staying awake Mr. Crisp has a more recent memory of all the workings due to just recently finishing up the breastfeeding part of his life while his mom still worked the toll, just ask him he is THREE now)

Basic rates:

- 1-5 people 1 ceramic piece per person

- Group rates 3 ceramic pieces per 6 individuals

-Wagons/large beast 5 ceramic pieces per axel/two legs/arm span segment

- Religious pilgrimages 2 for 1 special

* Bartering was encourages (especially with higher quality produce)

** Government/ Military / Army guards seemed to have some agreement with Dixon as a whole that you were not aware of. Many of them would show their markings as the men of one kingdom or another and just walk on through while on rare times it seems once a month or so someone would pay a sum much greater than the current party would suggest.

Small details:

- Dixon had roughly 40 adults to work the toll 24/7/365

- The main speaker for the toll knew toll & # ceramic pieces in multiple languages

- A language of lantern lights and similar to under-common hand speech was used by all in the village to communicate #s 0-200 and size of oncoming group as well as many common used words to describe travelers

- Your village of Dixon was roughly 500 yards from the main toll station

- The set up was somewhat similar to your current place except that the main point was narrower only allowing two wagons to cut through side by side.

- The steep cliff face along both side of the trail had false arrow slits/niches and real ones scattered along its length for 100 feet on both sides in both directions. Some of the time a few of the arrow slits/niches would be filled especially to put on a show for large or new groups.

- Wild ranging animals were killed whenever possible (kind of assumed party of the toll fee was to keep the road safe)

- The humans mainly worked during daylight hours

- Four shifts a day, one on call for larger groups or problems, and two in the rotation. An ALL call would happen as a sign of force when a bell rang in the village. Typically 1-2 month for large/ new groups

- Killing too often is Bad for business; repeat business is where the money is
